those million dollar ideas come from. Let your customers tell
you what they want and give it to them!

Start with your employees...
Your employees are the eyes and ears of your customers. Ask
them to keep their ears open to complaints and of course
anything the customers constantly ask for which you don't sell
or are usually out of.
Use comment cards...
Comment cards can provide you with invaluable data. Just try
to keep it simple and ask general questions with yes or no
answers. One of the best ways to find out what your customers
want is to ask them.
Spying on your competition...
Find out what your competition is doing. Have someone you
know check out there stores and what they are selling. Your
customers should be interested in the same items or services so
why not add them to your arsenal?
Create a list of your competitors and write them down. Then
go to Google and create a Google alert on your competition here
http://www.google.com/alerts.
Google will instantly notify you as soon as anything about
them shows up on the Internet. You can also use Google alert to
take care of any customer complaints that may pop up on the
Internet. (See Competitor
Analysis for more
info)

not buying from you. If you know what your customers are
looking for than you can also find out other related products
